the journey has started!
Arrived in Santiago and staying in the Aji hostel for the next days. Everything at home has been sorted, bike is on the way, work finished for the year and my flat has new tenants for my time away. Finally getting into the relaxing mood, no dates, no plans, just living the day…love it!
Met already many nice people in the hostel. A english couple which is travelling to Alaska and a dutch guy with a 4×4 exploring South America.
Santiago is a stunning place! Lovely spring weather at the moment, 25degC, blue sky, could be worse :). But you need to watch your belongings every second here! Yesterday a girl had her locked bicycle stolen in broad daylight just in the front of the hostel. Luckily the guys from the hostel could chase him down and she got her bike back.
My moto is still on the ship on its way to Valparaiso where I’ll pick it up on October 2 and set off from there. Just hope the custom clearance will be quick and smooth.
