I have ridden now 10000 km on the South American continent, 2 month and through 5 countries. My KTM 690 Enduro let me down once. But other than this one off manufacturing problem (I guess I’m the only one ever had this problem) I didn’t had any issues with the bike. It took a lot of abuse and all sorts of fuel and was always running fine. Light, powerful and very versatile onroad and offroad. Would definitely choose it again. The Klim Badlands riding jacket and pants has two things that annoy me. The zippers are very hard to open/close under dry and dusty conditions. The collar does not fit properly around the neck when the drinking bladder is more than half full. After I complained at KLIM they were very supportive and offered me to replace the jacket and pants in Ecuador for free for a new one. Besides that it is very well ventilated, absolutely waterproof, comfortable and great protection in case of a crash. With all the other stuff I’m having with me I don’t have any problems yet. Outstanding good are the Adventure Spec Magadan panniers and the Goldentyre 723. It was worth to spent some time before my long trip to choose and test the right equipment. At the end of my journey I will give a detail review for all the gear I’m having with me. I am travelling very minimalistic but there are still some things I’ve never used so far and never will. When taking to other travellers everyone told me that this is always the case, no matter how experienced you are with long distance travelling, you are always carrying too much. But I am quite happy, for my first long trip there are not so much useless things I don’t need.
